Highlander Casualties

It's been a while since I have posted for three reasons:

1. Busy at church.
2. Busy with the family.
3. Alabama Football.

Fortunately I have been able to finish the casualty markers for my Highland Clansmen from Warlord Games.  They are from their Highlander Casualties pack which has 12 metal figures in 4 different poses.  The sculptor for Warlord did a good job as they are "generic" casualties that can be painted as Highland clansmen, Covenant armies or other Scottish units from 1640 to 1745.  I used one figure to a clan unit and have now painted 4 figures as casualty markers for Victory Without Quarter English Civil War rules.

The Clans have Gathered

I have finished the second Highland clansmen unit for my English Civil War project using the rules Victory Without Quarter.  Of course they can be used with just about any rule set for the 1600 - 1750's time period.

Another view

Seems there is a musket hole in this bonnet!  I did not notice the black spot until now.

 Norm!

The highland clansman taking one for the clan came from the Highlander Casualties blister pack and are not sold individually.  There are 4 different casualty figures with a total of 12 figures.  I'll be using the other casualty figures for hit markers for the clan units and some will be painted for my future Covenanter units.

  Arrgh!

As mentioned in previous posts, the figures are from Warlord Games and have been a pleasure to paint.  The sculpting of the faces scream character and I love the fact that the figures can be purchased individually except for the casualties.

Here are some pictures of the Laird leading his combined forces.

Viking Progress . . . or lack of

It has been a busy last 30 days thus the mustering of the Dux Bellorum Viking army came to a virtual halt.  Fortunately I had a few hours to get back on track and have almost finished stand #3 and all of the bases.  Figures are Gripping Beast plastics.

The small banners are from the Gripping Beast box and I have added some paint to make them stand out more.

The stands are plastic stands from Game Workshops War of the Ring range.

The complete bases so far.  The Tau armor in support are optional for the army.
