A good game? You bet! Fast and easy to play; but a rule set that I suspect will be hard to master. The randomness of the cards added an exciting element to the game - just like in real life; you don't wait for your opponent to make his move.
Most young boys (and some adventurous girls) play with Toy Soldiers; some never stop! I'm proud to say that I am one that never has stopped. Toy Soldiers, painting the figures, history and miniature wargaming is what this site is all about. May the God who gives encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Flashback February: The Wild, Wild West (Play Mobile Style!)
Come back to the times of Yesteryear and journey back to the Town of Golden Nugget.
The town of Golden Nugget has grown up around the famous McLaren Goldmine. The fine citizens of the town live in harmony and the peace is enforced by Sheriff Dillon (also known as Honorable Son #5!).
Trouble is brewing on the horizon . . . the meanest, most ornery rattlesnake west of the Pecos has heard of the riches in the area. That's right, El Dorado and his gang are planning a brazen, daylight robbery of the gold from McLaren's mine.
The exciting shootout is going to be played with the free rules, Blaze of Glory, available from the great website Freewargamerules located at: http://www.freewargamesrules.co.uk/
Blaze of Glory is a miniature based, Wild West Skirmish war game. It is intended to be a fast and enjoyable game, with quick learn rules, so that both experienced wargamers and novices may get to grips with it as soon as possible. It is a quasi-historical game, aiming to capture the atmosphere of the movies and popular imagery, rather than give an accurate simulation of Wild West life. There is something here for all gamers, so go on don your spurs, load your six shooter, give a rousing 'Yippee Ki-ay!' and give it a go.

Mangani
The Mangani is the name of a fictional species of great apes in the Tarzan novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs, and of the invented language used by these apes. In the invented language, Mangani (meaning "great-ape") is the apes' word for their own kind, although the term is also applied (with modifications) to humans."Kerchak was a huge king ape, weighing perhaps three hundred and fifty pounds. His forehead was extremely low and receding, his eyes bloodshot, small and close set to his coarse, flat nose; his ears large and thin, but smaller than most of his kind."
My mangani is a actually a plastic toy I spotted in a package of toy African animals at Hobby Lobby. For the cost of a metal gorilla, I know had a group of animals for some future adventures. After spray painting the toy black, I did some quick dry brushing with white and gray and it literally took me about 15 minutes to have a suitable figure for gaming.
One of my goals this year is to have Tarzan adventuring company for In Her Majesty's Name and I am almost there. The rules for Tarzan and the mangani can be found on the official In Her Majesty's Name website located in the bonus material. Here is the direct link for the PDF for an adventuring company based around Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.

If you are going to play Dragon Rampant . . .
. . . you might as well have a dragon! Several years ago I purchased at a Schleich plastic toy dragon for $12.00 US with the intent of using it for gaming. Now that I have a copy of Daniel Mersey's Dragon Rampant it was time to get the dragon ready.
The dragon is mounted on a plywood base with a hot glue gun. The bases come 8 to a pack and can be purchased from Hobby Lobby in the USA for $2.99. I then painted on a few highlights for the horn, claws, teeth, tongue and under scales to make them look more realistic (I know, it's a dragon!). That took me all of maybe 10 minutes. The original colors are really good. Add some sand, paint the base and cover liberally with static grass and Ta - Dah: A dragon fit for battle.
