November Auctions: WW II, Pulp, Colonial, and Victorian Sci-Fi

As you many of you know, I retired this year (early, yea!) and decided to make my hobby self-sustaining; so . . . here are November's Auctions on eBay.

I put "The Lady's Exploration Society" first as I accidentally (whoops) started the auction last week. It ends on Tuesday, November 18 at 6:00 PM US Pacific Standard Time.

  1. Some nice figures there but I must say, I do not approve of this current fad for selling off parts of collections, just because the figures have not been used for a while (or occasionally, ever!) My wife, on the other hand, would be all in favour of it - if she ever found out its a thing!

    1. I'll make sure my beautiful bride (The Chief of Staff and Minister of Finance) does not tell your wife! Actually, most of the figures up for auction I bought for the express purpose of painting and selling. But I know what you mean.

  2. You are offering up a very handsome collection of pulpy goodness, Neil. Where did you get those British Sci-fi marines? Neat figures.

  3. Good morning Neil,
You blog is always worth a visit full of wonderful painted figures and inspirational ideas.
Like you I am a retired serviceman (Royal Navy Submarine Service) I have been down sizing my collection for about 6 years now, at one stage I had over 1200 20mm WW2 tanks and vehicles. At first the it was strange to sell my painted figures / tanks but now I work on the principle that if I have not used the figures in two years I sell them.
I started selling my unwanted but not unloved wargame items at wargame shows but for the last two years I have been selling on ebay, these sales have been funding my hobby and buying things for Wife and Grandchildren so a win win situation.
I also realised that I only needed 3 main periods of interest and if I wanted to start something new I could always buy what I wanted from ebay.

Keep up the blogging, stay safe and happy gaming,
    Willz Harley.
