There's a New Empress in Town!

 

Empress Dowager Cixi (慈禧太后) is currently the ruler of a weakened China in the alternative 1895 of my imagination. Pushing ruthlessly forward to modernize China, she has funded China's first Arc program, has steadily consolidated power and executed rivals, and has done everything she can to prevent the weakening of China against internal and external threats to the extent she has became the ruler of China. However, she has recently discovered that a member of the Imperial Court, Wu Zetian (武則天), is secretly the only surviving child of Emperor Guangxu. A beautiful, intelligent, and compassionate woman, Wu Zetian has had to flee with a death sentence placed on her by the Empress Dowager. She has supporters that want to help her ascend the Dragon Throne and a trio of companions that will guard her with their lives . . . and she has green eyes.

This could be a difficult company to field as they will usually be outnumbered; but with practice and taking advantage of their Talents and Mysterious Powers they may successfully get Wu Zetian on the Dragon Throne. If one or two of the guardians are not present, peasant warriors, bandits with a heart of gold, a Martial Monk, and even maybe the United States Marine Corps may show up!
